CMIS stands for Content Management Interoperability Services and is a standard for Content Management APIs put forward by Microsoft, EMC, IBM, OpenText, SAP, Oracle, and Alfresco. Alfresco released the first available open source implementation of the standard and we have participated in the standard committee.
