==Basics==
The Alfresco JCR RMI extension enables the Alfesco JCR compliant interface to be bound to an RMI implementation by leveraging Apache Jackrabbit. Apache Jackrabbit is a RMI adaptor for a JCR (JSR 170) compliant repository.

NOTE.........: According to the issue (http://issues.alfresco.com/browse/AR-706) and the forum topic (http://forums.alfresco.com/viewtopic.php?t=488&start=45&sid=0e55c71623d685d2709089537d0ae57b) the JCR RMI extension does NOT work correctly: "Anyway I agree -- the issue renders JCR-RMI a invalid option until it is solved."
